Summary

An idolatrous heart, anxious and trusting in self-merit or worldly pursuits, prevents true spiritual rest, leading to a life devoid of God's intended peace and joy. Genuine Sabbath rest is found by ceasing from our own works and idols, and instead, reflecting upon God's perfections and participating in His completed work in Christ. Only by repenting and resting in Him can one experience the strength, renewal, and deepening satisfaction that God desires to share.
